DETAILED ANALYSIS OF SONY WH-CH700N

Sony has been working hard to regain its top spot in the audio segment. With the WH-1000X Mk3, Sony launched the WH-CH700N after sticking strongly to the wireless noise cancellation segment. The WH-CH700N is designed to fill the existing gap in the field of noise-canceling headphones from Sony for beginners. Are you making a good choice for those looking for noise cancellation on a budget? We found

WHAT’S IN THE BOX

If you purchase the Sony WH-CH700N, you will receive a 3.5 mm cable in addition to the headset to connect the headset to your device. There is also a Micro USB cable to power the headphones. Unlike the more expensive 1000x-MarkIII, these headphones do not come with a carrying case or an on-board adapter.Fortunately, most international flights no longer use proprietary connections, which makes it easier to connect.

CONSTRUCTION AND DESIGN

The Sony WH-CH700N is definitely lighter than its larger counterpart. Fortunately, Sony has retained the noble appearance of the series, and although the build quality is somewhat muted, the finish remains of high quality. The Sony WH-CH700N looks much lighter in the hands and head, which, in our opinion, is definitely a good thing.

The ear cushions are soft and fluffy and sit comfortably around the ear. Unlike the WH-1000X MarkIII, the ear pads do not match the color of the headset housing. The review unit we received had a black finish, but the pads were dark gray. This visual asymmetry wasn’t really good for any of us on the team. The mesh fabric inside is also incredibly thin, almost transparent, and we are very concerned about its durability.

Unlike the Sony WH1000x Mark3, the Sony WH-CH700N headphones do not touch each other. Accordingly, all the essential control elements are located at the base of the curvature of the atria. Under the right earbud you will find the playback control switch and the volume button, while on the left earbud there is the power button, a special noise reduction button, the 3.5 mm headphone jack and the Micro USB port. The buttons are solid and well assembled, although we’re not too enthusiastic about the Exposedmicro USBB and the 3.5 mm headphone jack, which makes the headset prone to liquid damage.

The headband certainly has a much thinner padding than the WH-1000X MarkIII, but even after more than 7 hours of wearing the headphones, they did not become uncomfortable on the headband or in the ears. However, what happened was that the ears became hot after about 4 hours of use. For the price, the Sony WH-CH700N is built very well. There is no winch or squeak on the helmet. They are very well made for the price, to be honest.
